URGENT pet rescue needed..PLZ, plz help!!

A kitten is stuck inside a 10 foot PVC pipe. It's a vertical pipe that has a deadend and runs through a cement wall, hence can't be got at from the bottom opening. We've already tried letting down a length of cloth hoping it'll clutch at it and climb up or at least get a grip on it so we cna pull it up. So far, no luck..I think it's too young to know what to do!! :(

If anyone knows anyone who does pet rescue stuff who can help..or has any advice about how to get this little guy out..plz leave a comment on this with a contact number..or e-mail me at manshark@gmail.com and leave a msg.

It's urgent since the kitten would very likely die if left over night :'( PLZ help!!

Update (at 8.30pm)

Thanks to the heaps of people who e-mailed and the couple who left comments here with advise..esp the Anon who had some very ingenious rescue ideas! :oD

Kitten was rescued and is safe, sound, traumatised and asleep. Went through Al Juhara's blog archives searching for pet rescue team info..and finally this page led me to this Padma lady who very nicely put me in touch with another lady who called the pet rescue dudes..they showed up in 15 minutes - two dudes: one a creative rescue man and the other a vet surgeon (for care after rescue) and in less than 20 mins the kitten was out! Very, very impressive!! :o)

If anyone needs pet rescuing, shall post their info below for future reference!

Try putting some canned fish at the entrance of the pipe and hope that the kitten is attracted by its smell and comes for the food by its own instinct for survival.

Call the fire brigade.

Call Al Juhara.

Use a vacuum cleaner to suck it out.

Use a hook attached to a pole and pull it out.

Just leave it in there and feed it daily.

Break open the wall at the end.

Fill it with water and hopefully it'll float. Depends on specific gravity.

Attach a piece of cloth to a pole and soak it with industrial strength glue. Hopefully the little pussy cat will stick to it. You can shave him later if the hair sticks to the cloth.

Once again Al Juhara saves the day :) :)

Pet rescue guys arrived in 15 mins???? Damn, I wish the fire brigade or ambulance services would respond that fast. Or the cops.

Yea, 'xactly what we thinking too! Guess it's worthier in this country to treat animals (at least in the Cmbo area) better than people! :oD

aren't you gonna tell us how the Pet Rescue team did it? or is it as national secret for those who cross over to the other side only?

Bravo, Manshark!Way to go! I cant *beleive* I missed all this action!
for future reference 1)please tell us exactly how the chaps rescued the kitten and 2)find out if, if we asked them really nicely would they help me out too if I was stuck in a pipe?I mean,I somehow dont think Janashakhti would... and my bike IS known to end up in some funny places...

Sorry about the delayed reply.. How the rescue was done: they made a cradle like contraption out of a plastic lined wire (which looked suspiciously like one of those clothes hangers you get from the laundromat!) and this was tied to the end of a looonngg stick and then slipped under the kitten..hence it stayed quite nicely balanced while it was pulled out (we'd tried something similar before the rescue team arrived..but we used a bent pipe..and the kitten kept struggling, overbalancing and falling back after getting pulled up about a foot)..so the cradle idea was brilliant! :)

Al Juhara: damn! I took a cat to that vet clinic a coupla days ago..had I seen your comment before I left, I would have asked them for you..next time! :D
